The Kundalini Yoga Brand: How Russell Brand and Other Celebrities are Making Kundalini Yoga Mainstream

Saturday at Sat Nam Fest West started out like every other day, with early morning sadhana and yoga. But by mid-afternoon, some whispers started going around Joshua Tree – “Russell Brand is here!” Arriving at Sat Nam Fest, Russell Brand went straight to class, sat near the stage and joined several hundred other yogis for two hours of Kundalini yoga and meditation. While no one went to Sat Nam Fest with a plan of celebrity watching, seeing Russell Brand in a sea of yogis was a fun reminder that Kundalini yoga is becoming more and more mainstream.

Celebrities doing yoga isn’t a new phenomenon. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was doing hatha yoga back in the 70s, when yoga was still considered a pastime for hippies. What some may not have considered is just how influential it can be when celebrities do yoga. Consider this: these days we have the internet, and a world of information at our fingertips. Not that long ago though, it wasn’t so easy to learn about things outside of the mainstream. So when celebrities like Reese Witherspoon or Gwenyth Paltrow did Kundalini yoga classes, it was a big deal for introducing a new audience to the existence of Kundalini yoga. Now that we can access news and events from our cell phones, word of supermodel Miranda Kerr bringing her boyfriend Orlando Bloom to a Kundalini yoga class at Golden Bridge spreads far and fast.




Even in the yoga world, some people consider Kundalini yoga a bit strange. While many styles of hatha yoga can simply be used for a great work out, Kundalini yoga is different. So while celebrities are human beings just like everyone, the extensive list of Hollywood and entertainment business A-listers who have found Kundalini yoga beneficial goes a long way towards bringing Kundalini yoga into the mainstream. Just ask Madonna, Courtney Love, David Duchovny, and Rosanna Arquette – all of them have taken Kundalini yoga classes with Gurmukh. Actresses Jennifer Aniston and Melanie Griffith, and musicians Sting and Melissa Etheridge have done Kundalini yoga. Andie McDowell credits her youthful appearance to yoga, rather than the botox so many in Hollywood have used.  Oprah loves the divine music of Kundalini yogi Snatam Kaur and chants with her regularly.

So the next time someone tells you they aren’t very familiar with Kundalini yoga, tell them it has benefited people like Forest Whitaker, Cindy Crawford, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Inspirational figures Mastin Kipp and Michael Beckwith have done it, as have Michelle Williams and Paula Abdul. Most importantly, tell them how YOU have benefited. That’s the most important endorsement of all.

April 16, 2015 - Nikola Tesla is considered one of the most innovative and mysterious men who ever lived. If Tesla hadn’t invented and researched everything he did in his time, our technology today would be considerably worse. But is there something more to Tesla? Did he in fact have contact with Aliens as he publicly proclaimed? Tesla was a Genius, and his inventions and ideas had no boundaries. Over a hundred years ago, during the first decade of the twentieth century, Tesla filed a request to patent a peculiar aircraft, which he called “the world’s first flying saucer.”

The methods used in the design of the flying saucer matched the descriptions of those who claimed to have seen a from the UFO inside: with a discoidal capacitor with sufficient size to provide enough thrust to fly, while other small capacitors allowed to control the direction of the flying saucer, to which he added a gyroscopic stabilization system and a electric “drive” control.

Basically it is a incredibly well designed aircraft, one that we could actually manage to build today. Or have we already built it? What happened to this invention? Why are we not flying into space with Tesla’s incredible invention?

While the patent was granted, the UFO or rather called IFO as it had been identified by the insatiable imagination of Tesla, had a drawback: since the aircraft did not include an energy source of its own, it needed to be energized by the towers of wireless transmission, Tesla’s sources of “free energy”.

The lack of funding led to the abandonment of the development of the towers, so, eventually the ship also fell into darkness, and Tesla’s UFO or rather IFO was never made. But hold on Never?

Actually don’t be so sure because the US Secret Service seized all patents belonging to Tesla after his death “for reasons of national security.”

Now if Teslas ideas were insane as some had categorized them, why would the United States secret Service seize the patents for reasons of National Security? Hmmm lets think about it for a minute.

The ideas of ​​the great Nikola Tesla are incredible and better yet, way ahead of its time, many of his inventions, aimed at contributing towards world peace through free energy access, but governments and financiers of the time, did not follow the progress of Tesla’s mind.

Years later, his groundbreaking models and technological projects were used by the Nazis (not the way he had imagined it), and now numerous of his projects are held by the secret service, far away from the eyes of the public.

The Secret To How The Universe Works Lies Within This Geometrical Pattern. What Is The Flower of Life?


The Flower of Life is most likely something that you have seen before. It is a common symbol of many spiritual and religious teachings around the world. The Flower of Life has been found all over the world in many different religions. It is one of the oldest sacred symbols known to man. It is a geometrical shape that is made up of multiple overlapping circles of the same size. There is a huge amount of information and knowledge that can be gained from understanding the Flower of Life. It is considered to be sacred geometry that contains ancient religious value and to sum it up it depicts the fundamental forms of space and time, but there is a lot more to know. Let this be an introduction to The Flower of Life.

The oldest depiction of the flower of life known to man is at The Temple of Osiris in Abydos, Egypt. The symbol here is not etched or carved  into the granite rock, it appears to be burned into the rock.  Many other depictions can be found within many ancient structures in many different countries including: Israel, Turkey, Ireland and many more. A rather interesting depiction of the flower of life is found in The Forbidden City, in Beijing, China. The Flower of Life is found in a spherical form underneath the paw of the “Fu-Dog,” or more accurately known as the “Guardian Lion.” This palace was home to 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Fu-Dogs were a symbol of protection to the buildings and their inhabitants and also, they were considered to be the guardians of knowledge. Which is interesting when you consider the spherical Flower of Life symbol that is found under the dog’s paws. The dogs are literally guarding the knowledge.
It was mentioned above that The Flower of Life was considered to be sacred geometry, but what does that mean?

What is “Sacred Geometry?”

Back in the day, certain numbers had a symbolic meaning aside from their everyday use. Various shapes such as triangles, hexagons and octagons are considered a physical manifestation of a number. Because of this, these shapes hold a higher vibrational value because of the fact that they are visible.

Because of this Leonardo DaVinci was very interested in the Flower of Life and studied its form and mathematical properties. He was also interested in how the Flower of Life connected to physical reality as well as consciousness. Leonardo drew the Flower of Life itself, as well as the Seed of Life. Leonardo was known for using the Golden Ratio of Phi in his artwork, this is also known as the Fibonacci Spiral. Which is derived from the Flower of Life pattern.

I am sure many of you have heard of The Fibonacci Spiral before, the Fibonacci Spiral  is the series of numbers 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34… each number is comprised by adding together the previous 2 numbers. This is important because the spiral that this mathematical equation makes can be found in all living things including human beings, plants, animals and even our galaxy, The Milky Way.

There are many ancient sites that have been built on these geometric principles such as: The Parthenon –Athens, Greece -438B.C. The Giza Plateau – Egypt – 2600 B.C. The Taj Ma Hal India.. this is very fascinating considering that there are also many ancient sites and structures that have been fond to contain the symbol of The Flower of Life.

Metatrons cube is the name for a geometric figure that is made from connecting lines from the center of each 13 circles to the other 12 circles. 250 MILLION YEAR-OLD STONE WITH MICROCHIP DISCOVERED





April 6, 2015 - Researchers have made another incredible discovery in Labinsk, Russia. According to scholars this discovery marks the beginning of a completely new history, one that many ancient alien theorists have been talking about for years. The object that researchers have found is believed to be some sort of ancient microchip and according to researchers, this ancient microchips dates back millions of years. After countless tests, researchers have come to the conclusion that this antique piece was used as some sort of microchip in ancient times.

The problem is its age, according to tests, the artifact is believed to be between 225 and 250 million years old. Some researchers believe that the dating of the artifact is not entirely accurate given the fact that you cannot date rock, and the tests were based on traces of organic material found around the mystery “chip”.



The million dollar question is, who and what used a microchip that dates back 250 million years? Is there a possibility that this is in fact the remains of ancient technology? Technology that belonged to a highly advanced civilization that inhabited Earth millions of years ago? Or is there a possibility that this artifact did not originate from Earth, but on another planet, belonging to an extraterrestrial race.

Better yet, what makes Russia so unique that numerous artifacts, like the one we see here, have been discovered over the years.

This “ancient microchip” was discovered in the Krasnodar region, and ufologists have already tagged this discovery as a fragment of technology previously unknown to science. Like many other discoveries, this remarkable artifact was found by chance by a local fisherman by the name of Viktor Morozov who donated his curious finding to scholars from the University of Southern Polytechnic Nowoczerkaskiej who performed several tests and concluded that embedded into the rock, is a strange “device” which strangely resembles modern-day microchips. Researchers have not tried removing the alleged microchip from the rock in fear that the might damage it.



Geologists and researchers cannot explain the origin of this fantastic finding and there are numerous possibilities that explain what this object is. Extraterrestrial technology, evidence of sophisticated ancient societies, or just one of those strange rocks made by mother nature. Some researchers point out that this might actually be part of a stem plant, such as lillies, skeptics have already “debunked” this finding suggesting that it is noting worth the while, just like many other discoveries which couldn’t be explained, so the best guess was… “its nothing important”, however the origin of this artifact, and many others also discovered in Russia have not been explained.

Snail Venom Inspires Powerful Pain Reliever

The new drug could be the most promising painkiller since morphine was introduced.

Cone snail venom is inspiring a new generation of painkillers. The newest drug is 100 times more potent than existing pain medications. It also works at much lower doses and without risk of addiction.

Snail venom in a pill could offer powerful relief for people who suffer from severe and chronic pain.
It may seem an unlikely source of pharmaceutical inspiration, but the chemicals that some snails produce have potent effects on the human nervous system. This makes them promising sources of drugs that could dull the pain of cancer, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, HIV/AIDS, car accidents and other conditions.

In the latest advance, researchers have designed a venom-inspired medication that can be taken orally -- a leap forward from previous forms that needed to be injected directly into the spinal cord.
In rodent studies, the drug appears to work better than existing drugs, including morphine, at lower doses and without risks of addiction.

"Since we started getting some publicity, I've received dozens of e-mails from people all over the world asking me if they can get into clinical trials," said David Craik, a chemist at the University of Queensland in Australia, adding that he's still seeking funding and government approval before trials can begin.

"I've really been overwhelmed with some of the sad stories people have e-mailed," he said. "There's a great need for new treatments."

The new work involves cone snails, ocean-dwelling carnivorous predators that live in tropical waters around the world. A hungry cone snail uses a long, flexible proboscis as a lure and then as a harpoon.

Like a hypodermic needle, the proboscis injects fish, worms and other snails with venom that instantly paralyzes the prey. The venom's power comes from hundreds of thousands of short proteins, called peptides.

Since the 1990s, scientists have studied a few hundred of those peptides, called conotoxins, with the hope of tapping into their powers. So far, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved one synthetic conotoxin, called Prialt, for the treatment of severe and chronic pain. Others are currently in clinical trials.

While these treatments work well, their biggest limitation is that they need to be injected directly into the spinal cord, often through a surgically implanted pump. That's because the body quickly breaks down swallowed conotoxins before they can reach the receptors they need to reach.

To develop a snail-inspired painkiller stable enough to be taken orally, Craik and colleagues drew inspiration from an African plant that's long been used by witchdoctors as a tea to speed up labor and childbirth. Chemical analyses showed that the active ingredient in the plant was a peptide with the unusual shape: a circle. That shape, it turned out, made it more stable than most peptides.

Based on those findings, Craik's team engineered a synthetic conotoxin. Then, they added a few extra amino acids in order to turn the peptide into a circle.

"The advance is an elegant example of taking two lessons from nature, combining them, and making something that's even better," said Michael McIntosh, a professor of biology and psychiatry at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City.

When swallowed by rats with injured legs, the scientists reported in the journal Angewandte Chemie, the molecule relieved pain for more than four hours at doses more than 100 times smaller than typical doses of gabapentin, the main drug used to treat nervous system pain. Gabapentin works for just 30 to 60 percent of patients, Craik added, and it has unpleasant side effects. The new drug was also 100 times more powerful than morphine.

Because the new molecule works so well in such small concentrations, it would probably cause fewer side effects. People with pain would be less likely to need increasingly large doses of it to keep getting relief. That, and the receptors it acts on reduce the likelihood of addiction.

Scientists have only begun to explore the pharmaceutical possibilities of a tiny fraction of compounds in cone snail venom, Craik said, let alone in all of nature. There are probably many more yet to be found.

"This points out that nature has a lot to teach us," McIntosh said. "It's essential that we preserve the sources of these natural compounds to enable further similar discoveries."

Scientist says psychedelic brew consumed by Amazonian shamans could fight cancer

A powerful psychedelic brew consumed by shamans deep in the Amazon could help in the fight against cancer and should be researched, according to a Brazilian scientist.

Ayahuasca — meaning the “vine of the souls” – is traditionally prepared using the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and Psychotria viridis leaves, though other combinations of plants are sometimes used. Psychotria viridis contains N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in the leaves, while Banisteriopsis caapi contains beta-carbolines such as harmine and harmaline.

For centuries, the psychedelic brew has been used in shamanistic healing rituals. A Natural Geographic reporter who participated in an ayahuasca ritual described the experience as “terrifying—but enlightening.”

Eduardo E. Schenberg of the Federal University of Sao Paulo thinks some of the healing powers attributed to ayahuasca deserve scientific attention, particularly when it comes to cancer.
“There is enough available evidence that ayahuasca’s active principles, especially DMT and harmine, have positive effects in some cell cultures used to study cancer, and in biochemical processes important in cancer treatment, both in vitro and in vivo,” he wrote in an article published in SAGE Open Medicine. ”Therefore, the few available reports of people benefiting from ayahuasca in their cancer treatment experiences should be taken seriously, and the hypothesis presented here, fully testable by rigorous scientific experimentation, helps to understand the available cases and pave the way for new experiments.”

Rumors of ayahuasca helping people with cancer are common, according to Schenberg, and there are at least nine case reports of cancer patients using ayahuasca during their treatment. Of these nine reports, three showed improvements after consuming the psychedelic brew.


Rumors and less than a dozen case reports are hardly substantial evidence. But the physiological effects of the drug suggests there might be some truth behind them, Schenberg said.

DMT produces a powerful psychedelic experience by binding to serotonin receptors in the brain. More importantly, for Schenberg, the drug also binds to the sigma 1 receptor, which is found throughout the body and is involved in many cellular functions. The sigma 1 receptor appears to be implicated in the death signalling of cancer cells.

In addition, harmine has been shown to induce the death of some cancer cells and inhibit the proliferation of human carcinoma cells.

Other physiological factors suggest the combination of DMT and harmine could have medically-important antitumor effects, though more research is need.

“In summary, it is hypothesized that the combined actions of β-carbolines and DMT present in ayahuasca may diminish tumor blood supply, activate apoptotic pathways, diminish cell proliferation, and change the energetic metabolic imbalance of cancer cells, which is known as the Warburg effect,” Schenberg  wrote. ”Therefore, ayahuasca may act on cancer hallmarks such as angiogenesis, apoptosis, and cell metabolism.”

DMT is currently prohibited as a Schedule I drug by the U.S. Controlled Substances Act and the international Convention on Psychotropic Substances. The drug is relatively unknown compared to other illicit substances like cannabis, but researchers have found that DMT appears to be increasing in popularity.

“If ayahuasca is scientifically proven to have the healing potentials long recorded by anthropologists, explorers, and ethnobotanists, outlawing ayahuasca or its medical use and denying people adequate access to its curative effects could be perceived as an infringement on human rights, a serious issue that demands careful and thorough discussion,” Schenberg wrote.
